Oh what FUN we HAD!
SUN WAS OUT this Bank Holiday Monday at The BOWGIE INN for their Ale Festival in support of Cornwall Hospice Care !
Felt brilliant not only to be back on stage…but also back on form too!
Learnt a few important lessons at my.last concert at OLD BAKERY STUDIOS…particularly on how to bring in new material with confidence and care.
Happy to say that I was sharper, more slick and prepped well!
The set flowed and the audience feedback was AMAZING….even after the first set!
THANK YOU all so much for your wonderful comments…I know I say “thank you” perhaps too much but it really means a lot after everything I’ve been through
But honestly?
The highlight of the afternoon wasnโt my own set…
It was watching my friends in Indian Queens Band under inspiring new musical direction!
Their two sets were nothing short of a treat to the ears
The music selection, the flow of the programme, and the revitalised energy on stage was so uplifting.
Their new MD brings such charisma and talent…and like me, he likes to find new ways of keeping tradition alive
….Itโs clear the band is entering an exciting new era.
It was especially special for me as a former percussionist with Indian Queens Band many years ago…..just please keep me away from the hand cymbals!
I really canโt wait for the band’s 170th anniversary celebrations next year …and no, thatโs not a typoโฆ theyโve been going strong since the 1800s!
Hereโs to music, milestones, and making a difference.
